Salutations™!!
It was 50 years ago today that John, followed by Ringo, followed by Paul (barefoot and out of step) followed by George walked across the crosswalk at 3 Abbey Road, St John’s Wood, City of Westminster in London. The iconic photo was taken by photographer Iain Macmillan, eventually was the cover of the last album recorded by The Beatles, Abbey Road.
Macmillan was given only ten minutes to take the photo while he stood on a step-ladder and a policeman held up traffic behind the camera. Macmillan took six photographs, which McCartney examined with a magnifying glass before deciding which would be used on the album sleeve, according to the Wikipedia entry.
The 50th-anniversary special editions of Abbey Road were announced today. It will be a super deluxe 4 disc set, 3 LP deluxe vinyl, 2 CD deluxe, limited edition picture disc, CD, LP, digital and streaming. This will be available everywhere 27th September 2019. You know I’m going to have to ask Underdog Records for the 3xLP set, yeah?
So, look for more entries about this album coming soon!
Until tomorrow, get some Golden Slumbers…
Scorp out!

“Once there was a way to get back homeward. Once there was a way to get back home. Sleep, pretty darling do not cry and I will sing a lullaby.” – “Golden Slumbers” (Lennon/McCartney)
