Salutations™!!

Yesterday was a fairly routine, laid-back day. That was good because the night before was full of great food and good times with my best girl, The BCPF. Of course, some time at Underdog Records and “rekkid” listening. Here’s the haul:

Dolly Parton – New Harvest … First Gathering — Dolly’s eighteenth studio album. I have to say I love her stuff and this was good, but mostly unremarkable. A couple of covers, “My Girl (My Love)” and “(Your Love Has Lifted Me) Higher and Higher,” that are decent, but overall, I was kind of disappointed. VG+.

©Verve

Judas Priest – Hero, Hero — This is a compilation album of early Judas Priest recordings, released in between British Steel (1980) and Point of Entry (1981) by Gull Records. It consists of all ten tracks from the Rocka Rolla album, six tracks from the Sad Wings of Destiny album, and an alternate version of “Diamonds And Rust”. The tracks from Rocka Rolla and “Diamonds And Rust” were remixed by Rodger Bain in 1981. The tracks from Sad Wings of Destiny were not remixed. I have both Rocka Rolla and two versions of Sad Wings of Destiny but I wanted to add to my Priest repertoire. 2×LP, Gatefold, VG+.

Leonard Cohen – The Best Of — According to Ira Nadel’s 1996 Cohen memoir Various Positions, Cohen agreed to the project because there was a new generation of listeners and he was given complete artistic control; he picked the songs, designed the package, and insisted that the lyrics be included. The album was not a hit in the United States but did well in Europe. I like Cohen. Generally, though, he falls in the same category of Tom Waits, Lou Reed, even Bob Dylan, I love their songs, but would rather hear someone else sing them. EX.

The Mothers Of Invention – Freak Out! — 2×LP, Reissue, Stereo, Hot Spot Ad, 180g. This is #246 on the RS list that matters and is not on the RS list that doesn’t. Boo to that. Not that I love this album, but c’mon… This copy is NM for the LPs but this is what is on the description label from Jonathan: “The cover went on a bender and woke up on a park bench, but both albums (LPs) are in near mint condition. Had the cover been in the same condition as the vinyl, I would have probably paid $20+ for this. With the cover, I paid $6. I’ll take it. Plus, it’s another notch on my RS lists and, well, another tick in the quantity column. 2013 reissue, with “Freak Out – Hot Spots” map/poster insert. Side D is delineated as noted in Tracklist on inner gatefold; on label, a single track is listed as “The Return Of The Son Of Monster Magnet (12:17)” Side 1 and Side 3: Barking Pumpkin Records, Purple Label
Side 2 and Side 4: Zappa Records, Green Type on Red Label.

Ella Fitzgerald / Duke Ellington – Ella & Duke At The Côte D’Azur — 1967 live album by Ella Fitzgerald, accompanied by the big band of Duke Ellington. It’s really mostly Duke with some Ella sprinkled in. I don’t know if that was normal for then or what, but that’s how it happened. I don’t mind Ella’s scatting which is something she’s known for, but I’d prefer to just hear her sing without all of that. She did it a lot on here. And Duke’s band was nuts with the squealing high pitches of the trumpets. It was kind of difficult to listen to and enjoy it. This is 2×LP and, as far as I can tell, is an original pressing. It was sealed, oddly enough, and of course we promptly opened that sucker up. NM/New.

Paper Lace – Paper Lace — I can’t tell if this is an official studio release or a compilation. Discogs doesn’t put any details on this album. It doesn’t line up with what Wikipedia says about the first Paper Lace album. So… I don’t know. But, it has “Billy Don’t Be a Hero” and “The Night Chicago Died” on it. I know their version of “Billy…” (which they wrote) wasn’t the hit. That was from Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods. VG+.

Ladysmith Black Mambazo – Shaka Zulu — Best known to us Americans as the backing singers on Paul Simon’s fantastic Graceland album, Ladysmith Black Mambazo has been around for a long time. From Wikipedia: Following the collaboration on Paul Simon’s 1986 album Graceland which brought the group to international prominence, Shaka Zulu (produced by Simon) marked the band’s first genuine international hit, securing them an American audience which would be built upon by the successes of Journey of Dreams (1988) and Two Worlds, One Heart (1990). Shaka Zulu was a collection of newly recorded versions of older Mambazo hits, such as “Unomathemba”, “Hello My Baby” and “Lomhlaba Kawunoni”. Shaka Zulu won a Grammy in 1988 for Best Traditional Folk Recording. VG+.

Exposé – Exposure — I remember being in the 10th grade and getting tutored by my Geometry teacher and this song being played over and over and over again by the Dixie Debs (a horrible name for the all-female dance/pep team of the school) out in the hallway. I liked it, I still like it when I hear the hits on 80s on 8 on SiriusXM. So, yeah. EX.

The Police – Synchronicity — Yep, another one added to the long list of variant covers of this album. This one is denoted as Yellow, Blue, Red (YBR) Andy/Sting/Stewart – Andy Tub Right. That’s six of the variants that I have now. VG.

Jonathan has increased a day on the schedule. Underdog Records is now open Wednesday-Saturday 11a-7p with deliveries happening on Monday and Tuesday. Closed Sunday. You can get in on the delivery action by watching his social media where he posts, new, restock, freshly acquired and more. You can buy NEW (meaning unopened unused) vinyl 24/7 by visiting the Underdog Records website. I used Discogs to keep track of what I have, what some of my friends have, to pick a random record and to occasionally buy things from the Discogs Marketplace.

Until tomorrow, keep spinnin’…

Salutations™!!

Today is the 43rd anniversary of Leonard Cohen’s Death of a Ladies’ Man album. Not his most widely known work, but it’s Cohen, it has to be pretty good. I mean, if you like that kind of thing. I do when I’m in the mood. This song was done by a gentleman with a good voice and I enjoyed listening as he did the lead track from the album. I hope you do, too.

Until tomorrow, same blog channel…

Christmas, Leonard Cohen, Music, Rufus Wainwright, Video

Salutations™!!

I’ve never had a “real” hangover, being one of the results of alcohol use, much to the chagrin of my friends. But, I always seem to have a holiday hangover. I know I listened to way too much holiday music. I hate most Christmas music and we shot one after the other after the other after the other on Tuesday and then some on Wednesday. It was ringing in my head and it was rough, so I need to get to something a lot happier (or at least not Christmas) and I figured some darker, more depressing music would be in order. Tomorrow is the 52nd anniversary of Leonard Cohen’s Songs of Leonard Cohen. So here’s Rufus Wainwright’s cover of “So Long, Marianne.” Enjoy!

Until tomorrow, same blog channel…

Salutations™!!

First off, notice I changed the title of this one. It seems my Sunday posts are a bit verbose at times, and they’re usually about records. Neither of which really lends to the “silent” aspect of Silent Sunday. So, I think I’m changing the “haul” posts up a bit. I’ll still do Silent Sunday for non-record posts.

Well, this is a little different in the record category, as well. I went to Underdog Records, three different times from Friday to Saturday. I went on Friday because I didn’t think I’d get there Saturday because of a party we were having with a dear friend of ours. That included a bus and beer. Yep. Bus. Beer. And, also, on Friday, I was given a few records by a friend of mine. She said, here you can have these. Some of them ended up crossing off a few entries off the RS List. So, here’s what we got:

  • Poison – Open Up and Say…Ahh! – Yeah, I know it’s cheesy “hair metal” but I don’t care. I love this album. I think Bret Michaels sings perfectly well for what they were. Still, when people talk hair metal, I’d say 17 out of 20 would say Poison first. This was a reissue, so new.
  • Dr. Dog – Critical Equation – A new album from a band that, to me, sounds like a mixture between Robert Smith of the Cure and Bob Dylan. It’s right up The BCPF’s alley and that’s why I picked it. New.
  • Liz Phair – Exile In Guyville – #327 on the RS List, this was a reissue on 180g vinyl to celebrate its 25th anniversary. It’s a great album. She’s ballsy for a chick. That’s a good thing. New.
  • Bob Dylan – Desire – #174 on the RS List. It was there in the used bin and in VG condition.
  • Frankie Goes To Hollywood – Welcome To The Pleasuredome – Yep, this is the “Relax” album, which is all most people know about. My second favorite song from the band is also on this album, “Two Tribes (For the Victims of Ravishment).” VG
  • Ella Fitzgerald – Ella Fitzgerald Sings The Johnny Mercer Song Book – Ella. ‘Nuff said. VG+.
  • Crosby-Nash – Live – Another rendition/combination involving any or all members of CSNY. Jonathan said it’s great so well see. VG+.
  • Stephen Stills – Stephen Stills 2 – Another in the CSNY shuffle.
  • The Motels – All Four One – “Only the Lonely” is on this one. I love that song and I want to hear more from them. VG+.
  • Bruce Springsteen – Nebraska – #226 on the RS List, it was a little more on the subdued side. That’s okay. I think I gave it a neutral review on the list. VG+.
  • Journey – Infinity – The first with Steve Perry singing and the last with Aynsley Dunbar on drums. I’d say “Wheel in the Sky” was the big hit on this one. VG+.
  • Stan Getz – Stan Getz I hope this is as good as the other Stan Getz things I have. I love his stuff. VG.
  • Squeeze  – Cosi Fan Tutti Frutti – I like Squeeze. It was there. I grabbed it. Done. VG+.
  • Fleetwood Mac – Heroes Are Hard To Find – Pre-Buckingham/Nicks Mac with Bob Welch still in the band. I like Bob Welch. Let’s see what we got. VG+.
  • The Alan Parsons Project – Eve – Another in the Alan Parsons Project cannon! VG++.
  • 10cc – Bloody Tourists – I love the song “Dreadlock Holiday” which is about reggae. I think it’s a great song. We’ll see what the rest of it sounds like. VG++.
  • Supertramp – “…Famous Last Words…” – I see a few of my friends talk about this album as something special. I like Supertramp, let’s see. NM.

These are the ones that were “gifted” to me:

  • Joan Baez – Baptism – Joan Baez. The BCPF will enjoy this. VG.
  • The Young Rascals – Collections – Some of these weren’t in the greatest shape but it wasn’t “damage” as much as it was “love,” right? This is one of those. G+.
  • The Band – Music From Big Pink – #34 on the RS List. I don’t really care for the album but I need to give them another chance anyway. G+.
  • Judy Collins – Who Knows Where The Time Goes – Another for The BCPF to listen to when I’m not around. VG.
  • Leonard Cohen – Songs Of Leonard Cohen – The Godfather of depressing music. I have to take his depressed arse another time. G+
  • Bee Gees – Idea – 1969 album when they still credited other folks on the album and track sheets. G+.
  • The Beatles – The Beatles’ Story – A spoken word/musical journey in the history of The Beatles. VG+.
  • The Beatles – A Hard Day’s Night (Original Motion Picture Sound Track) – Well loved copy. G+.
  • The Liverpool Kids – Beattle Mash – This is an enigma to me. It’s clearly a Beatles-esque or Beatles-influenced band. Beatles is spelled wrong in the title and on the back but right everyhwere else, including the center label itself, where it credits the artist as The Schoolboys. Liner Notes credit artist as The Liverpool Moptops. So, who knows what’s going on. They cover “She Loves You” but the rest is just in British Invasion genre. G+?
  • Elvis – Double Dynamite! – Not even credited to Mr. Presley, it just says Elvis, although the cover is clearly him. It also says it’s made from original RCA masters. Eh? VG.
  • Richie Havens – Mixed Bag – VG.

So, a pretty big haul there. Thanks, Lori for the gifts. And thank you Underdog Records for providing me a “candy store” to be proud of. And thanks to Discogs for providing such a great place for me to catalog my stuff!

Until tomorrow, same blog channel…

Clay and I sang Happy Birthday to Underdog Records because it was their anniversary weekend. Wednesday, November 1 was their FOURTH anniversary! Woot! Here’s what we walked out with:R-5219787-1387843222-4514.jpeg

  • Neil Diamond – Jonathan Livingston Seagull (Original Motion Picture Sound Track) (Clay said I should have it, $1 bin, VG)
  • The New Birth – It’s Been A Long Time (I know little of the band, but someone else posted a lot of them, so why not? $1 bin, VG)
  • Elvin Bishop – Struttin’ My Stuff ($1 bin, VG)
  • Andrew Gold – What’s Wrong With This Picture? (another Clay recommendation, $1 bin, VG)
  • Gordon Lightfoot – Summertime Dream ($1 bin, VG+)

As I said, it was the anniversary weekend of Underdog Records. For four years Jonathan has brought vinyl goodness to Winston-Salem. Plus, the holiday season is coming and he’ll offer gift “certificates” for your gift-giving needs. Also, he has several turntables in store for sale if you’re looking for a good one and he said he had some turntables coming soon. The holiday season is the perfect time to get into/back into vinyl. Then use Discogs to catalog your collection.

Salutations™!!

I once had a conversation about the song “Hallelujah” from Leonard Cohen. I had talked about not getting its appeal. Then I was educated and have come to really love the song. There are many, many versions of it online but this is absolutely my favorite version, ever. This is Norwegian superstars Espen Lind, Askil Holm, Alejandro Fuentes and Kurt Nilsen (who won the first season of Norway’s version of American Idol). Kurt Nilsen’s part is my favorite part. This is so good. Enjoy!

Salutations™!!

2016 was a rough year for losses of notable names in the sports, music, movies, pop culture, all around. We are probably at that time in our lives when those we admired, looked up to, watched, listened to and wanted to be like are passing on. Many of these people became popular at a time when celebrity and notoriety were new phenomena, becoming more and more in the public eye with cable channels and more visible availability to the general public. Some were behind the scenes and some in our faces and in our ears. While 2017 may or may not offer any reprieve from the onslaught of these deaths, let’s hope the list is at least smaller.

This is not, by any means, a full, comprehensive list of those we lost but I hope it’s a good tribute.

That’s 114 notable names (if I counted them correctly) that we lost this year. Some of them I didn’t even know we lost until compiling this list. Ron Glass, Robert Vaughn, David Huddleston and William Christopher were a few I didn’t know about. Again, while 2017 may not be gentle on us either, we can hope. I think part of it is we’re used to only about one or two A-list celebs departing a year with more B- and C-listers, but this year, we had many A-listers. Many of them older than I thought. Hope you all have a great 2017!

Until tomorrow, same blog channel…

Salutations™!!

Whew 200 gone and now we kick into 3rd gear, right?  Rolling Stone’s Top 500 Albums of All Time are counting down and I think I said in the #400-301 recap everything I needed to say. So, it’s time to begin!

#300 – Master of Reality by Black Sabbath. Way to start it out, eh? Punched in the mouth by the originators of Heavy Metal music, at least what I perceive to be the case,1Black_Sabbath_-_Master_of_Reality Black Sabbath. It’s hard to believe that this heavy of stuff was coming out in 1971. It’s relatively short, too, at least as far as songs go, with 8 songs (one being only 28 seconds long). Time-wise, however, it’s up there with all proper songs being at least five minutes and about 35 minutes total. I’m wondering if the end of “Children of the Grave” is where Victor Miller and Sean S. Cunningham got the idea for the whispering in the film Friday the 13th from 1980? Don’t know. “Sweet Leaf” starts the album off and it’s a great riff, I used to play it in a band and it was fun to play live. I wonder what this s -weet leaf is that Ozzy’s speaking of? That was back when you could understand him talking. “Lord of this World” is one heavy tune and feels like my feet are grounded after being run over by it. Same goes for “Into the Void,” the closing number. And dang, Geezer! He’s kicking arse on this album. Tommy Iommi always kicks butt. I was trying to look up to see the personnel for this album and everything that I find says that Ozzy sings all the vocals but I contend that the vocals on “Solitude” is not Ozzy singing it. I’ll admit that my Ozzy knowledge is really from after he left Sabbath but I really don’t think that was him singing there. Overall, a crack-your-teeth kind of album that rocks the hardest way possible. Dug!

#299 – Weezer (Blue Album) by Weezer. When this first came out in 1994, I hated it. Hated it! Now, I think it’s a barrel of fun and love listening to it. The hits, “My Name is Jonas,” “Buddy Holly,” “Undone – The Sweater Song” and “Say It Ain’t So,” are hits because they’re quality hit material.  It’s fantastic stuff. They brought chic to nerdism and they were proud to do so. Musically, it’s some of the finest tunage that the 1990s had to offer. Nothing that makes these boys virtuoso-like, but the song writing, is amazing. I said I hated it. Why? Just like Flaming Lips getting famous from a song about Vaseline, these guys got famous because of a song about a sweater and Buddy Holly. I was stuck in the basement playing what I thought was the best option, musically. I know now that all that was baloney, but it was how I was at the time. I’d listen to this at least once a week if it was needed and do so with a smile on my face. I definitely dug!

#298 – The College Dropout by Kanye West. Okay, Kanye is an a-hole. I’ve said it. I just now said it, again. The POTUS even said he was an idiot. Some of the things he does, yeah, makes him look like one. I think he’s an attention wh*re and enjoys being such. But, while he does look like an idiot, I don’t think that he is one. This is his debut album and it took a long time to record. He uses samples from several of his 1Kanyewest_collegedropoutcontemporaries throughout the album. It’s been a while since the “N” word was prevalent in an “RST500” album but I knew this was going to have it in there. I was right. That’s bad for me, but he’s got a decent voice and isn’t too abrasive  in the raps. He uses a good bit of actual singing vocals from others, like “All Falls Down” with Syleena Johnson. “I’ll Fly Away,” by Albert Brumley is a modern gospelized version of the tune that heard growing up going to Ma Mère’s (and eventually Ma Père’s as well) Pentecostal-Hades-Fire-and-Brimstone church. Yes, Dear Reader, I haven’t always been the heathen I am today. Let me say, it sounds a lot better on this album that it ever did in that little white church by the creek. Kanye seems to have fun, but is serious. Lots of musicality and I’ll be honest, I didn’t hate listening to it. I’ll admit that with 20 tracks it does tend to become background music, but at the same time, it’s very accessible (minus the “N” word). The last song, “Last Call,” pretty much is KW talking about the making of the album and signing the deal with Roc-A-Fella records after Capitol passed on him. I like the behind the scenes stuff. All in all, I dug it.

#297 – We’re Only in It for the Money by Mothers of Invention. I have never, ever done an illicit or illegal substance but listening to this, I really, really, really wish that I at least knew what the high was like so I could maybe get it more. I mean they even talk about smoking a lot of dope in “Who Needs the Peace Corps?” There was definitely some influence on Stewart Copeland because some of his material for The Police sounds a lot like this.  The segues are a bit strange, too. But, I can picture a gang of people in togas sitting around in a “drum circle,” getting stoned, drinking Scotch Whisky and recording this album. Lots of lava lamps and Naugahyde animals scattered about, I’m sure. “COP KILL A CREEP! Pow pow pow.” That’s the closing lyrics to “Concentration Moon.” That and the follow up, “Mom & Dad,” are great musically, and lyrically, really, but it’s just so weird. Again, it’s the late-’60s and some wily stuff, but just weird, to me. I like weird. “Flower Punk” has to be the inspiration for the Match Game with Gene Rayburn’s theme song. Lots of tape loops and radio transmissions are scattered throughout the album. I sat listening to it with my eyes open in a daze and my scalp crawling because it was so corn-fusing. Then. Then there was “Let’s Make the Water Turn Black.” Then. The lyrics, which made me rewind and listen again, mention this: “Whizzing and pasting and pooting through the day.” Apparently, Kenny and Ronnie are crappy little kids who only want to light farts and pee in jars. I’m shaking my head, now. But, you know what? I didn’t hate it. It’s weirder than all get out but I’d probably listen again because the songs, while ridiculous at times, are mostly easy to listen to. Dug.

#296 – Meat is Murder by The Smiths. The Smiths: bouncy happy music complete with depression-laden lyrics from constant downer, Morrissey. I’ll be honest and say that I really only knew one song on this album, which was “That Joke Isn’t Funny Anymore.” 1MeatMurderThe Smiths, I’m hit or miss with them. I will say that I’m indifferent with this. Musically, it’s solid; completely solid. Lyrically, it’s solid, because Morrissey is a storyteller, but the clash of the happy/morbid is sometimes hard to get through. This isn’t necessarily hard to get through, just not my favorite. I really need to listen to more Johnny Marr’s solo stuff because his playing is fantastic on this. I do like “Well I Wonder,” though. And dang! Andy Rourke’s bass playing is always fantastic, but on “Barbarism Begins at Home,” it’s freaking amazing! It’s a great song. I believe I could listen to it again as it grows on you. I dug it.

#295 – Songs of Love and Hate by Leonard Cohen. Wow! Talk about a rough section. Weirdo Frank Zappa and then the laugh-a-minute duo of Morrissey and, now, Leonard Cohen? That’s a party, I tell ya! Now for all the craziness I made of people like Dylan, Waits, Young, etc. (Lucinda Williams is still on the hook), I really like Leonard Cohen’s 1Songs_of_love_and_hatewacky voice nuttiness. “Avalanche” is so dark but I love it. He’s a classic story teller but some of the stories really make one depressed. “Last Year’s Man” is the example I’m hearing right now. It’s about Jesus and such and he makes it all morbidly noir. In listening to this I’m hearing some of my good buddy, Patrick Ferguson, in this. Patrick sings much better than ol’ Leonard, but I hear a style comparison here. I think it’s in the execution. “Diamonds in the Mine” sounds like there is an attempt at fun for Cohen. Then again, perhaps he’s having fun the whole time and relishes in the murk? The music and the delivery is almost chuckling self-satire. “Joan of Arc” is a beautifully tragic song about Joan as she’s being burned at the stake. How can that not be fantastic? This album is dark, witty, honest. I like it. Take a listen. Dug.

#294 – Kick Out the Jams by MC5. Okay, a live album. I was happy with the last one (Nirvana Unplugged) so here’s hoping for good things with this one. I love the preachiness of the intro. Can I get an Amen!? Lots of energy in the first song “Ramblin’ Rose.” Lots of energy for all of it, really. Woodstocky, but isn’t most live stuff from that era? I think I’ve heard “Borderline” before, it sounds very familiar. It’s kick arse from the get go to the end. That being said, I have to say for the most part, I don’t really care for it, but I appreciate it for what it is. I see why it’s on the list and its placement is perfect. I’m not disputing any of it, just saying it’s meh for me. I’ll say that I do really enjoy “Starship.” That song is what I wish the rest of the album could have been. So I’ll just leave it at that.

#293 – White Light/White Heat by The Velvet Underground. Seriously distorted bass and poetic flair. That’s what I get from this. I can’t understand a single thing that they’re saying in “The Gift.” I hear a word here and there but I can’t put any full sentences together, at least not until about halfway through the song. I may have to go back and listen with headphones, but I don’t know if I really want to. Follow that up with Lou Reed being very loud and overtaking John Cale’s lead vox in “Lady Godiva’s Operation.” It’s abrasive and unneeded. I really think that VU just wanted to be as weird as they possibly could. They achieved that, if so. I do like “Here She Comes Now.” I’ve heard that before, too, I think. The album ends with a 17-minute jam about mainlining drugs, being high and oral sex. I do not get people’s obsession with this band. I don’t care how good the story is, this is ridiculous. DID NOT DIG!!!!

#292 – The Basement Tapes by Bob Dylan & The Band. These are some funny songs. It’s exactly what you thought you’d get from Dylan and The Band as well. What confuses me, though, is the why? Let me rephrase that as I’m not asking why they did it, that’s not a problem, but I think that this is really a Dylan album with a few Band songs sprinkled about. This is a double album (four sides on vinyl; an hour and seventeen minutes long), why not just release the Dylan songs (there are almost 2 LPs or at least an LP and an EP worth) or The Bands songs on their own albums? My experience is that in recording, there are sometimes songs that aren’t used, I’m sure they could have filled any holes. So that’s the question, why not just do their own things and perhaps have guest spots with Dylan playing on The Band’s and The Band as the “backup” band for Dylan? Eh, I don’t know. It’s a mystery! Whilst most of the album, for me, was just background there were some really good tunes, as well. Some songs that I really did like were: “Yazoo Street Scandal,” “Bessie Smith,” “Don’t Ya Tell Henry” and “Ruben Remus.” Dug, I guess.

#291 – Talking Heads: 77 by Talking Heads. Have I mentioned how much I love Tina Weymouth? She’s the bass wizard that works magic with Talking Heads. “Uh-Oh, Love 1Talking Heads 77Comes to Town” is a great demonstration of this. She’s awesome and amazing. Ok, this is the debut album of Talking Heads. I’m up and down, hit or miss (I’m tired of this phrase for the blog) with them. Stop Making Sense was a masterpiece in every sense of the word. This, I must say, is a fine, fine specimen of musicality, just nothing that outright makes me excited. I do like it, though. “Psycho Killer” is one of my favorite Heads songs. “Don’t Worry About the Government” is also a nicely crafted tune.  All in all, it’s decent disc and I’ll say that I dug it. This is mostly because of Tina Weymouth.

Not a bad haul, though I’ll say it’s not my favorite segment. Not even close. I won’t poo poo much (save Velvet Underground and MC5) on it, though. Good listens, but I maintain my “why here” questioning of placement of some of the albums.  What do you think of the segment? What’s your thoughts on them or how I reviewed them? Are any of your faves on this part? Let me know, hit me up, say something!

Until tomorrow, same blog channel…
