Salutations™!!
31 years ago, the self-titled debut album from Winger came out. Yeah, call me Stuart if you want, but I loved that album. I liked the polished synth-and-guitar-driven hair metal. And, yeah, Kip Winger looked like the guy from Color me Badd, but I still dug him and he is the former bass player from Alice Cooper’s band. That gets some cred, right? Rod Morgenstein on drums? A former Dixie Dreg? I met Reb Beach at a guitar clinic at Music Loft when it was in the little shopping center on University Pkwy. He was cool and is an amazing guitarist. He splits his time between Winger and Whitesnake, currently. Subject matter notwithstanding, this is still one of my favorite songs by Winger from this album. Enjoy!
Until tomorrow, same blog channel…
Scorp out!

“Yeah, I saw sparks fly, from the corner of my eye. When I turned, it was love at first sight. I said, ‘please excuse me, I didn’t catch your name. Oh, it’d be a shame not to see you again.’ And just when I thought she was comin’ to my door, she whispered sweet and brought me to the floor. She said, ‘I’m only seventeen.'” – “Seventeen” ( Winger/Beach/Hill)
