Salutations™!!
Freddie Mercury hit the “Note Heard ‘Round the World” during his “day-oh” solo. That long note that he held excited the world. Now, Simon Le Bon from Duran Duran, to me is one of the great singers of our time. The whole band was amazing. However, during their Live Aid performance (in Philly), Simon hit a really bad note. Just one (within reason) but the same folks that gave Mercury’s note accolades also claimed this was the “‘bum’ note heard ’round the world.” That’s harsh. The rest of this song is fantastic for a live version. Simon calls it the most embarrassing moment of his career. I think he’s worrying too much about it. Other than that, it’s a great performance. Enjoy!

“The choice for you is the view to a kill. Between the shades, assassination standing still. The first crystal tears fall as snowflakes on your body. First time in years, to drench your skin with lover’s rosy stain. A chance to find a phoenix for the flame. A chance to die, but can we dance into the fire…” – “A View to a Kill” (Barry/Taylor/Le Bon/Taylor/Taylor/Bates)
