Salutations™!!
Today is the 35th anniversary of Live Aid, the (somewhat controversial) fundraising benefit event for Ethiopia. It was held live in Philadelphia and London and broadcast all over the world. It was spearheaded by Bob Geldof from the Boomtown Rats and Midge Ure of Ultravox. There was a shload of acts that participated and actually a good number of those that didn’t.
To me, the biggest todo was Queen reuniting and having to jump in the fray as they almost missed the deadline. The film Bohemian Rhapsody was based on the history of the band leading up to Live Aid. We watched the film on Saturday and was impressed. I watched a “side-by-side” comparison to Rami Malek’s performance to Freddie Mercury’s. It was amazing. So, here’s today’s video, the whole Queen performance. Enjoy!
Until tomorrow, same blog channel…

“Here we stand or here we fall. History won’t care at all. Make the bed, light the light. Lady Mercy won’t be home tonight. You don’t waste no time at all. Don’t hear the bell but you answer the call. It comes to you as to us all. Yeah, we’re just waiting for the hammer to fall, yeah.” – “Hammer to Fall” (May)
