What I had to celebrate Cinco de Mayo

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Contrary to many people, Cinco de Mayo is not the Mexican Independence Day like our 4 July. Cinco de Mayo is the anniversary of Mexico’s victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862 on, you guessed it… May 5. So, for us self-righteous and self-centered Americans, happy Mexican beer, tequila shots and margarita day to you all. By the way, the Grito de Dolores (Cry of Delores – the start of the Mexican Independence Revolution) is Dieciséis de Septiembre or September 16.

Until tomorrow, same blog channel…
Scorp out!

“More popular in the United States than in Mexico, Cinco de Mayo has become associated with the celebration of Mexican-American culture.” – Wikipedia
