Today is the 33rd anniversary of Eric B & Rakim’s Paid In Full album. It was important for the time as it was one of the first rap albums to gain recognition. It’s #228 on the RS list. I have it on vinyl and on CD. The title track got me a lot of girl-attention in high school. I learned to play it on bass and when we did things with the Chorus in high school, the “chicks dug it.” I dug that. Here’s a cover and while the octave is high, it’s still a decent version.

Until tomorrow, same blog channel…
Scorp out!

“Thinkin’ of a master plan ’cause ain’t nothin’ but sweat inside my hand. So I dig into my pocket, all my money spent. So I dig deeper, but still coming up with lint. So I start my mission, leave my residence, thinkin’, “How could I get some dead presidents?” I need money.” – “Paid In Full” (Barrier/Griffin)
