I had the good fortune to play with my Threadbare Trio pals, Clay Howard and Neal Goode, plus guitarist Greg Stentz to do some Cheat Trick songs at the newish Blind Tiger in Greensboro. It was a benefit for Ruff Love Rescue and Ginger’s Fund. We did six Cheap Trick songs and escaped doing “Surrender,” “Dream Police” and the loathsome “I Want You to Want Me.” We did do “On Top of The World,” “California Man,” “Big Eyes,” “So Good To See You,” “The Flame” (my favorite Cheap Trick song) and “Blood Red Lips” from their newest album, Bang, Zoom, Crazy… Hello.

It was fun. Thanks to Joe G. for having the Joe G Cover Band Explosion for us to do that. I’ll just leave the pic of Clay, Neal, Greg (knees) and me from last night.

Until tomorrow, same blog channel…
Scorp out!

“Wherever you go, I’ll be with you. Whatever you want, I’ll give it to you. Whenever you need someone to lay your heart and head upon, remember, after the fire, after all the rain, I will be the flame.” – “The Flame” (Mitchell, Graham)
