Bombshell Beer Company is located in Holly Springs and is, as far as we can tell, the only woman-owned brewery in the state. Woot! for them! It appears their heavy on the IPAs and ales but there are other beers they offer as well. This week, we’re going for the straight-up IPA: Head Over Hops.
The Bombshell description of this brew is: “Our IPA abounds with juicy notes of tropical fruit from both the late kettle and dry hop additions. The malt bill establishes drinkability sure to please most hop heads.”
I look forward to trying it. Yes, I know I’ve been complaining about IPAs and all that jazz, but I’ve had a few good ones lately. I’m hoping this is one of those. This brew is 6.9%ABV with an IBU of 87 so it’s going to be hoppy. BeerAdvocate has no rating for it yet but Untappd has it at 3.68 caps out of 5. Have you had it? What did you think? If you’ve not had it or you just have a hankering for more, you can run by City Beverage and grab your sixer. Tell them it’s the beer of the week and you’ll get 5% off your order. Then tune in late tonight or early tomorrow (or anytime… your choice) and hear what Caitlin, Tammy, Brian and I think of it.
Oh, and the picture will be that way for the next little bit. I’ll tell you more about it in the next few days. I promise.
Until tomorrow, same blog channel…
“History tells us that brewing beer was traditionally a woman’s job. In fact, the creation of beer is credited to women! The goddess, Ninkasi is recognized for creating the oldest beer recipe in existence, dating back some 3900 years.” – Bombshell Beer Company website.
