City Beverage, the Official Beer Sponsor of The Less Desirables, presents Tres Blueberry Stout from Dark Horse Brewing, The Less Desirables Beer of the Week.

Caitlin is out this week, so I get to play without the “face.” I kid (mostly). Dark Horse makes some danged fine brews and this is one of them, from what I hear. They have five “seasonal” stouts and they’re numbered, one to five. There’s the One Oatmeal Stout, Too 46625ce6-eb25-41f2-a3c3-c1088825caa2Cream Stout, this one, Tres Blueberry, Fore Smoked Stout and Plead the 5th Stout. Last week, I could only have one (which I got into trouble with) and this week, I had free reign and that’s what I did.

Spencer, at City Beverage said this was quite a fine brew and I can’t wait. I love fruit beers. Dark Horse is located in Marshall, MI, not too far from Battle Creek and Kalamazoo. They’ve been around since 1997. Check out their website for a shload of other beer options they have available.

Untappd has Tres Blueberry Stout rated at 3.66 caps out of 5. BeerAdvocate has it at 90 (Outstanding) and an 86 (Very Good) Bros Score. It’s ABV, which I’m excited about, is 7.5%. Have you tried it? What did you think? If you haven’t or you just want more of it, head down to City Beverage and pick up your quad (that’s how it comes). Tune in later tonight or early tomorrow to hear what Doug, Jim and I think of it.

Until tomorrow, same blog channel…
Scorp out!

“This stout is full-bodied and brewed with all malted barley and fresh blueberries added after fermentation. The nose is where you will begin to realize this stout is in a league of its own. Blueberry, chocolate and roasted aromas lead the way to a very pleasant drinking experience…” – Dark Horse Tres Blueberry Page
