I know there’s been a lot of IPAs on the show lately, especially for someone who is a self-professed “hopped out” beer drinker. However, while I do have some control over what’s consumed on The Less Desirables, it’s not all about my personal preferences. I try to accommodate Caitlin and the guests, as well. Plus, this is a different kind of IPA. I’m hoping the pineapple is prevalent.
SweetWater, as of late, has been a little hit-or-miss with me. About the time I realized that most of their wares are IPAs was the time that I was starting to get out of drinking them, personally. Out of six year-round brews, half of them, three, are IPAs. Out of six seasonal (or as they call them “catch & release) beers, four of them are IPAs, counting this one. So, while I am tired of IPAs, if I’m going to have one, I want it to be worth my while or appealing to me. This one, really does intrigue me because I’m a fan of pineapple. I’m hoping that this will be to my liking.
It’s 6.1% ABV so that’s at least right on target. IBUs are 50 so that’s a good bit hoppy. BeerAdvocate has it rated at 85 (Very Good) with no Bros score. Untappd has it at 3.77 caps out of 5. Have you had this beer before? If so let us know what you think. If not, or if you just want another, head down to 915 Burke Street and grab your sixer today! Tell them it’s the Beer of the Week and you’ll get 5% off your order!
Until tomorrow, same blog channel…
