I know I talk a lot about friends on this blog. Other than my beautiful wife and wonderful son and family, my friends are the most important things in my life. Yesterday, I had a chance to catch up with my best bud, whom I’ve not really had a chance to hang with over the last few months. We sat and talked and did a little business together and it was like we’d not had any time apart. It was really a great talk. There was beer involved, as usual and that, too, was fantastico.
Tonight, The BCPF (and possibly 3B) and I will be going to hang with fellow The Beer Dads co-host, Paul and his family and some other friends. We usually have New Years Eve with another group but we wanted to try something different this year. There will be great food (because Paul always does great food) and great drink. I am going out in the next few minutes to get the ingredients to make my guacamole recipe as we’re having steak tacos, from what I can tell.
I hope that whatever it is that you’re doing tonight, Dear Reader, you’re safe. Drink responsibly, don’t drive if you’re drinking, have fun with your friends and just enjoy yourself. May I, again, recommend using Uber for your transportation needs. They’re safe and less than a taxi. Again, have fun. Do crazy things but not dangerously crazy. And don’t pull a Joan Jett (read the quote at bottom). Well, unless you’re just wanting to.
Until next year (see what I did there?), same blog channel…
“Shaving my head was a millennium ritual, to not let it pass as just another New Year’s Eve. A lot has happened to me in the last couple of years, personally and spiritually. I wanted to mark it for myself.” – Joan Jett
