This brew, Alewerks actually, is new to this market so I really don’t have anything to go on. I know Caitlin isn’t a huge fan of porters but I’m hoping there’s something here that strikes her fancy. Alewerks is located in Williamsburg, Virginia and has been around since 2006. According to their website, Washington’s Porter is “dark brown/black in color with and aroma of chocolate and malt and flavors of caramel, sweet chocolate and a touch roasted barley.” It is a good 6.5% ABV.
BeerAdvocate gives it a rating of 86 (Very Good) and Untappd has it at 3.62 caps out of 5. Have you tried it, yet? No? Then go out and get a sixer from City Beverage (915 Burke St.) and listen along with The Less Desirables, tonight, tomorrow or this weekend, whenever. Find out how Caitlin, Rebeccah Byer of Olio, Bruce and I like it.
Until tomorrow, same blog channel…
