City Beverage, the Official Beer Sponsor of The Less Desirables, presents Born Yesterday Pale Ale from Lagunitas Brewing Company, The Less Desirables Beer of the Week.

The name isn’t just a clever marketing ploy. Lagunitas just bottled it last Monday (in Chicago) and City Beverage got it in their stores on Tuesday. So this is still, very fresh. That was what drew me to taking it. As you know I’ve been scooting away from Pales and IPAs but I had to get this one. Spencer said it was “gooooooood” and I’m quoting unnamedhim on that. We know that Lagunitas does good work, we had the “Doppel Sticky” a few weeks ago. So this is bound to be pretty righteous.

BeerAdvocate has it at 98 (World Class) and a Bros score of 90 (Outstanding). Untappd has it at 4.17 caps out of 5. Another outstanding rating. So this has to be some good stuff. From what I can tell this is a re-imagining of the “New Dog Town Pale” that Lagunitas is famous for. It’s at 6.5% ABV, yummy!!

Have you had this beer? Do you wanna? You can pick up your sixer by heading to 915 Burke St in WSNC, go into City Beverage and tell Spencer you want the Beer of the Week and you’ll get 5% off your purchase. Easy peasy, George and Wheezy! Let us know what you think about it. Tune in this week to hear what Caitlin, Jon, myself and whomever else may stop in, have to say about it.

Until tomorrow, same blog channel…
Scorp out!

“Born Yesterday is a newborn version of our re-born Pale, a Newer New Dogtown Pale with a fresh addition … We added some wet, Virgin, lupulin-drenched, un-kilned, whole-cone, fresh-picked-and-rushed-straight-from-Yakima hops for your immaculate reception. This wetter-than-wet beer has 11lbs-per-barrel of Amarillo, Equinox, Simcoe, Citra, Mosaic and Indigenous Catawampus. Whoa.” – Lagunitas Born Yesterday Pale Ale site
