Salutations™!!

These blog posts are sometimes hard to come up with. At least something interesting. That’s why, before I was writing every day, that I would go upwards of two months between writings. I do a lot of stuff in my life but at the same time I feel I’m a boring dude. Not that I’m boring per se, but that it’s not worth writing the same stuff over and over and over again. You seem to enjoy it, Dear Reader, as my reading numbers go up and I get a lot of subscribers. I just don’t want to bore you.

Because I know I get new readers all the time, here’s a little bit of “fourth wall” action as I am giving away some of my secrets or just how I work with this blog o’mine. I try to keep my posts at least two hundred and fifty words, at least. Some days I make that and some days I don’t. But, I try, nonetheless. I am fortunate enough to have three days a week that, to me, it doesn’t matter. It’s more informational than anything for those days. Those days are Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.TimBlog

Wednesdays are always The Less Desirables Beer of the Week (brought to you by City Beverage, the Official Beer Sponsor of The Less Desirables) and I highlight, or preview if I can, the brew we’re going to be enjoying that night on TLD. Saturdays are always recaps of the The Less Desirables Movie of the Week (brought to you by a/perture cinema, the Official Movie Sponsor of The Less Desirables) and my review of it from that past Wednesday’s show. Sundays are “Silent Sunday” and that gives me a release on how many words I’ll type. Some days it could be up to 1000, others it may be just a quip or two. But, I always try to post a pic of something relevant to the story. I do that for every post, though. I got the idea from something Kristen Daukas, who, by the way, is the reason I do this thing every day, and her “Wordless Wednesday.” I didn’t want to copy that, plus I want to write about the beer so I made up my own and called it “Silent Sunday” for S’s and G’s.

At the bottom (you do read to the bottom, right?), I always have a quote of some sort but it always has something to do with what I’m writing about, even if there’s a bit of a stretch in there somewhere. Also, I figure you’ve noticed, whether you’re a long time reader or just stumbling across this in the last few days or so, that I write as a character; from a character’s perspective – from Scorp. Yes, I’m a Scorpio. Writing in that style serves several functions. It allows me to write “outside the box” when I need to and somehow it lets me be more open. I do like to protect those around me who may be “innocent bystanders,” whenever possible and usually, there’s not a good reason to mention real names unless it has to do with one of the podcasts. I like them as characters as well. Characters like The BCPF, 3B, Ma Mère and Ma Père, etc. And, one last thing, no, I don’t own the “trademark” on the word “Salutations.” I just use that because it’s always been my hello for my non-article or episodic writings.

So thanks for reading all this. As you can probably tell, I had to find something to write about. A year ago, I’d have just not written. I don’t like that. I want to write. Thank you, too, for reading as you do and for supporting me. I’ll talk to you tomorrow.

Until tomorrow, same blog channel…
Scorp out!
