The Less Desirables Beer of the Week is Milk Stout by Left Hand Brewing Company and is brought to you by City Beverage, the Official Beer Sponsor of The Less Desirables.

It seems that we’ve only had one brew from Left Hand up until now and that was back on August 8, 2012 and it was their Stranger Pale Ale. I don’t remember what we felt about it and I didn’t put it in Untappd when we did have it. I can get behind on those things.

Milk Stouts aren’t too familiar with me. The only one that I know I’ve had is the DuckRabbit version and, to me, that’s not my favorite DuckRabbit lefthandbrew but it’s not too shabby. So, this will be an adventure for me, stouts and porters are my absolute favorite beer styles so it can’t be all that bad, right? Left Hand’s Milk Stout, according to Spencer at City Beverage, outsells the DuckRabbit, so it must be pretty good.

BeerAdvocate has it at 88 (“Very Good”) on the users score. Untappd as it at 3.91 out of 5 caps. That’s almost a 4. That’s pretty darn good. It’s also sitting at 6% ABV. I like that, too! Have you had it before? If you’re wanting some so you can drink along with us whilst you’re listening to this week’s show, then absolutely run by City Beverage at 915 Burke Street in WSNC and tell Spencer that you want a sixer of this week’s Beer of the Week and you’ll get 5% off, too. Tune in this week on iTunes, Stitcher, the website or any other aggregator of your choosing and see what Caitlin, our Official Guest for tonight: Shonna Whitley, Eugene and I think of it. Caitlin doesn’t like dark beers but hopefully she’ll dig this one. Suck it up, sister!

Until tomorrow, same blog channel…
Scorp out!
