City Beverage presents this week’s The Less Desirables Beer of the Week, Starr Hill’s Reviver Red IPA. Starr Hill is out of Charlottesville, Virginia.

When Eugene and I went up to Richmond to spend time with Brian, our old The Less Desirables cohort we had plenty of beers, either at the restaurant we went to, Brian’s house or at FedEx Field to watch B&E’s beloved Redskins play the lowly Cowpiles.  Two that I had was from Starr Hill Brewery. One was Snow Blind, which is a doppelbock lager (and I rated it a 4 on Untappd). The other was Dark Starr Stout and I rated it a 3. Both good and/or decent beers. So, from what I’ve had of Starr Hill, I’ve enjoyed.

Spencer, over at City Bev, said he thinks this is one of the best beers that Starr Hill putsunnamed out. As far as I can remember (I don’t want to go back that far in his history), Eugene didn’t mind them either. So, we’ll see if he, Caitlin and I like this or not. Now, Eug and I are about hopped out, so I’m hoping these aren’t too over the hop, er… top. I’m keeping an open mind, either way.

You should listen to hear what our ratings are. How about you? Have you tried Reviver Red IPA from Starr Hill? Let us know what you think of it. If you haven’t, head on over to City Bev, at 915 Burke Street in #wsnc and pick up a sixer.  Then… let us know what you think. You can leave a comment here, on TLD’s Facebook, my Facebook, TLD’s Twitter, my Twitter (chances are you’re reading this from one of those places).

Until tomorrow, same blog channel…
Scorp out!

“Reviver is an India Pale Ale that blurs the boundaries between IPA and Amber styles. Specialty malts provide its inviting ruby-red hue, medium body and firm maltiness, while American hops impart a refreshing citrus aroma and flavor.” – from Starr Hill’s Reviver web page.
