I don’t really have a lot to say on the subject but it seems, according to the Chicago Tribune, that the chairman of Tootsie Roll Industries, Melvin Gordon, has passed away at the young age of 95.
I’ve never been a fan of Tootsie Rolls, actually. Not a fan of the chocolate-ish somewhat gooey/somewhat solid stuff. The flavor isn’t my cup of tea, either. Tootsie Roll Pops, I’d eat the hard candy and then ditch the crap inside. Give me the Blow Pops (no jokes, okay!?) any day with its crappy gum on the inside.
Now, my friends, some of them liked it and I totally get the significance of Tootsie Rolls and for that reason, I totally am sad about this. So if you’re a fan of them, cheers to you and I give you a moment of silence for your loss.
Until tomorrow, same blog channel…
