I am sitting here riveted to the television, watching the coverage of the terror attacks on the Charlie Hebdo satirical newspaper with a heavy heart. Paris is one of my and The BCPF‘s favorite cities, if not our absolute favorite international city.
The confusion, aftermath, speculation, piecing together of events, it’s fascinating to me, but sad. I think my feelings toward the city make me feel especially bad about this happening and the happenings. I won’t say I feel like I did on 9/11 because this is MY country, first and foremost, but the connection with Paris, does give me similar feelings. I know what it feels like to be in the city with heightened security but I can’t imagine what it would be like to there right now. I bet the streets are much less populated as usual.
Anywhat, my heart goes out to them. I don’t pray, but I send many positive thoughts and positive vibes to The City of Light, its citizens and others who love the city as we do. Je t’aime, Paris!
